Our ghee is made on our dairy farm, De Groote Voort, from the whey of the milk that our beautiful Jersey cows provide.
Ghee is pure milkfat – yes, clarified butter (which means that the water has been removed) with a rich nutty fragrance and taste.
It’s an excellent product for (deep) frying, baking and virtually every form of cooking.
Among its many advantages – apart from being extremely healthy – it enhances the flavour of herbs and spices, doesn’t spatter in the pan and, at normal temperatures, keeps virtually indefinitely.
Once opened, ghee needs fresh air, so keep the lid on loosely.
